About Me

People say I'm:

assertive, a standup individual, honest, funny, astute, wounded, prophetic, empathetic, educated, vulnerable, gregarious, resilient, determined, theatrical, outspoken, a hot dog, a (bleeping) Red Sox fan, a (bleeping) Capricorn, a pain in the (bleep) ... all of whom sort of can sing.
Describe Yourself:

Mine has been a long and winding road in this life ... and I've only entered into my life's work with clarity and total commitment two years ago (I'd been tiptoeing prior to that) -- which is way uncommon for a 63-year-old.

In between writing essays -- for which, to date, I've not received any remuneration (for a variety of reasons/not my first choice) -- I'm trying to get it together and reestablish my personal life while The Great Leveling is in the process of bringing this once great country to its knees (America WILL recover). I watch an ordinary amount of TV, always trying to stay on top of both the news and our pop culture, while trying to read figurative tea leaves between the lines (I'm getting better and better doing that).

I take what I do very seriously -- but I bend over backwards to avoid taking myself too seriously.

Favorite Music, Artists, Genres:

Old poop pop music stuff, with multiple vocal harmonies and intriguing (for me) theory structures. My all-time favorite band: The Association.
Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:

Too many to name. My favorite novelists: Kurt Vonnegut, Dean Koontz, John Grisham, Stephen King, Michael Crichton, Steve Tesich, Whitley Strieber.
Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres:

Contact, Field of Dreams, The Notebook, Notting Hill, the Kill Bills back-to-back. I like good actors, period -- and their stockpile is dwindling.
Favorite TV Shows, Actors:

Bones, Medium, House, Fringe, Lost (and Eli Stone before it was cancelled).
Favorite Places:

They're mostly just memories.
Interests and Activities:

If the Red Sox are televised, all of my activities -- all of them -- are shut down right on the spot, so I can watch the game.
Wish List:

A stable and wholly fulfilling life, with breathless romance.
First 2010 Prediction:

The economy, at least as we all have known it, isn't coming back -- ever. Major Change is already here.
